Curasorb™ Calcium alginate dressing is designed to interact with sodium in wounds to create an ionic exchange and help jump-start the epithelialization process. It absorbs approximately twenty times its weight in exudate. It is easy and painless to remove with minimal tissue trauma.
Gel block feature with unique fiber configuration: Encourages vertical wicking which pulls exudates straight through the dressing allowing more efficient exudate removal.
Maintains integrity: Allows fast and easy removal and clean up.
Minimal shrinkage: Helps prevent maceration of periwound.
High calcium levels: Speeds hemostasis.
Stable gel formula: Higher %age of guluronic levels allows easier removal and minimizes tissue trauma, maximizes patient comfort during removal and debridement.
Unique composition and weaving pattern help provide a simplified one piece removal.
Indications: Granulation tissue, moderately to heavy draining wounds, deep wounds with cavities, bleeding wounds, dehisced surgical wounds, venous/diabetic/arterial ulcers, donor sites, second degree burns, abrasions/lacerations/skin tears, pressure ulcers, other external wounds with moderate to heavy exudate.
